Discussion Forum’s or Message Boards are possible in SymposiumLIVE for Blackboard. This powerful tool paves the way for a dialogue to be opened between teacher and student as well as student-to-student.

Every media file or document uploaded to the site by a student or a teacher can have a discussion forum attached. This allows for a threaded dialogue to take place in context to the assignment.

Administrators and Instructors have the ability to activate a discussion forum, or deactivate it at any time. After giving the forum a name and description, a Moderator can be assigned. This gives a user the ability to control the messages that are posted. Additionally, when a board is first created, it can be designated as public or private. For public, all students can view and participate; private allows only a select group of students to participate.
